### Agent Host
A VS Code component (v1.136+) that lets multiple VS Code windows connect to the same agent session. It runs agent harnesses (such as Copilot or Claude) in a dedicated process built on the open **Agent Host Protocol (AHP)**. The agent host's Copilot harness is powered by the [Copilot SDK](https://www.npmjs.com/package/@github/copilot-sdk), which keeps its behavior aligned with the Copilot CLI, the standalone GitHub Copilot app, and other Copilot products.
**Example**: Starting a session in one VS Code window, then reconnecting to the same live session from a second window without losing state.
**When to use**: When you want a consistent agent session shared across multiple editor windows, or when you want the same underlying agent behavior across VS Code, the CLI, and the Copilot app.
